My name is Chris Tomin and I am the owner and operator of Naples Boatworks, Inc. which I established in 2004. I have been in the marine repair business for over 25 years and have a mobile repair business and shop in Naples, Florida.

I initially began working on voyaging ships rising to chief engineer, but now I work on yachts and boats. I am a member of ABYC and I am certified by ABYC for marine systems installations. I have been certified on diesel and gasoline engines and I enjoy custom re-power projects, along with electrical, tankage and plumbing work. I especially like to trouble-shoot and resolve mechanical and electrical problems, to identify their causes, and find solutions that work.

At my previous employments, Boston Boatworks and Marina Bay Boatworks, I repaired and refitted boats up to 75 feet with engines and generators, fuel tanks, potable water tanks, waste tanks, air conditioning, and all plumbing and wiring, as needed. My work entailed providing insurance estimates, and working with surveyors and adjusters to restore engine rooms to the condition they were in prior to the damage caused by sinking, fires, lightning, and other sources.

As a boat owner and experienced marine mechanic I know that Southwest Florida presents unique challenges to boat owners. The warm temperatures of the Gulf can wreak havoc on boat cooling systems and cause rapid corrosion.
